This website is dedicated to reviving the cherished legacy of DeLong's BBQ Pit. The unforgettable flavors and memories continue to hold a special place in the hearts of many, and we, the DeLong's family, are excited to rekindle those moments for a new generation!
While the restaurant is not yet back and the signature sauce is still in the works, we’re actively taking steps to bring these beloved staples back to life. In the meantime, we’ve designed limited edition t-shirts featuring the iconic logo from the original DeLong's menu. These exclusive shirts are our way of celebrating the enduring support and love from our amazing community over the years.

HISTORY
1942: Fate brought Adeline and Robert together on Ann St in Ann Arbor's vibrant Black Business District, sparking a beautiful romance that led to marriage!
1944: Their small family was thriving—Robert climbed the ranks to a managerial position at Argus Camera, while Adeline juggled roles at Cummingham's and the University of Michigan Hospital.
1962: Robert's incredible cooking skills captivates the community, igniting their dream of opening a restaurant. Despite facing challenges in securing financing due to racial discrimination, they boldly opened DeLong's BBQ Pit from a small loan from his best friend.
1963: Named after their daughter's nickname and Robert's height, DeLong's officially opened and became a beloved gathering spot, filled with laughter and stories, and iconic guests like B.B. King and James Brown! Sadly, it closed in 2003 due to unforeseen circumstances, but its legacy lives on!
